Rupert Grint made a name for himself at the young age of 11 when he starred in the Harry Potter movies as the beloved character Ron Weasley.
However, the famous face that we have all grown to love might not have been the star of the show for very long.
Chatting to The Independent, the 30-year-old revealed that once he’d finished his GCSE’s, and filming for The Goblet Of Fire, he almost called it a day on the wizarding world.
He told the publication: ‘I had just finished my GCSEs, I thought “Do I actually want to keep doing this” It’s a bit of a drag because obviously it’s a big sacrifice.
‘You take for granted anonymity, just doing normal stuff, just going out, everything was different and a little bit scary. There were times when I was like “I’m done”.
He went on to talk about being papped in the street and how he found his new life ‘dehumanising.’
The actor said: ‘It’s almost like having a split personality, sometimes it can be quite dehumanising to have people just taking pictures of you when you’re out, to them, you are just this one thing, it’s a weird existence, but that’s my life.’
Just last month Rupert spoke to Metro.co.uk about the ‘hardcore’ Harry Potter fans and how he still gets accosted on the street.
‘[Harry Potter] fans are different in every country, but here they’re quite hardcore, they’re…passionate,’ he told us with a smirk.
