It’s a Hogwarts Reunion! This Former Harry Potter Star (and Ravenclaw) Just Tied the Knot

While Padma Patil may not have had an on-screen happy ending with Ron Weasley at the Yule Ball, actress Afshan Azad just tied the knot IRL in the Harry Potter reunion wedding of our dreams.
The 29-year-old bride (and Ravenclaw) wed Nabil Kazi in a traditional Bangladeshi ceremony last week, followed by a stunning reception in Birmingham, England on Sunday. Naturally, Katie Leung, who played Cho Chang, attended the Sunday celebration to show support for her fellow Ravenclaw housemate. Even Bonnie Wright, A.K.A. the beloved Ginny Weasley, stopped by, making this wedding a full-on Hogwarts celebration. All we’re missing is Harry Potter himself (and perhaps Dumbledore, too).

Azad took to Instagram to commemorate both wedding occasions, first sharing a photo with her new spouse after the ceremony, during which she donned a breathtaking red and gold shimmery lengha. “Best wedding ever, even if I do say so myself! Keep us in your prayers. ❤️👰🏻🤵🏻 #KazadWedding #RoyalWedding,” she captioned the post. With a hashtag that puts the festivities on par with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, you know this one was one extravagant affair.

For the reception, the bride changed into a long sleeve white embellished gown. The happy couple also christened their chosen reception space, Symphony Hall Birmingham, as a wedding venue. “Historically, the first wedding to EVER happen in this venue, it was absolutely breathtaking,” Azad wrote on Instagram. “My very own Royal Wedding! 👸🏻 Thank you to everyone who helped put this night together. Here’s to a lifetime of Happiness with you my love – We did it.”
Azad’s magical former co-stars also shared the love via social media. “Over the moon to have been there with you today Afshan,” Wright captioned a photo with the bride and Leung.” We love you so much! Congratulations to you and Nabil, wishing you so much joy in your married life together ❤️🌹.”

You’ll likely recall Azad as one of the Patil twins in the Harry Potter series, who rose to dominance in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire when Ron and Harry asked the siblings to accompany them to the Yule Ball. While Azad’s on-screen sister may have gotten the better luck of the draw as Harry’s date, she’s definitely come out on top this time around. Congrats to the happy couple!
